Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style of photography?

Having two photographers means you get two unique perspectives and twice the action.

We both lean towards a story telling documentary style approach to our photography.  We believe a true story of events is the best way to capture real life memories and real emotions of the day.

Between us we have different ways of capturing the details, key moments, formals, groups, portraits and candid photos showing pre-wedding nerves, pure joy, laughter and often real tears.

We aim to show your personalities in the images we capture.

What is your editing style?

Matt tends to opt more for warmer bright images  with a vivid punch of colour or high contrast black and white images.

Sarah on the other hand prefers more natural and neutral colour palettes.

Your final images will strike a balance somewhere in between maintaining consistency across your entire gallery.

We are happy to hear if you have any specific editing preferences.

How long before we receive our photos?

For wedding photographs we guarantee delivery within 6-12 weeks.  This allows us time to catch up with our editing demand during busier months.  You will often receive your final images much sooner.

We also offer priority fast track final images (within 3-4 weeks).  If you are interested in this service please ask.  Pricing is relative to our current demand but we can guide you if we think you will benefit.

For other photography projects we will outline delivery timelines  at time of booking but your wait times will be dramatically shorter than a wedding (Usually within 1-2 weeks depending on the scope).

Will my gallery be colour or black and white?

We shoot all our images in colour.

For weddings and events we deliver your images in colour plus you will get around 90% or more of them also in black and white for no additional charge.

Some images simply do not suit black and white tones hence why we select the ones that do.  Some people prefer not to receive any black and white copies so please do let us know if you prefer only colour copies.

We can also offer sepia toned images giving an "old fashioned" photograph appearance. We would be happy to do a handful of these for you upon request however if you want a high volume this may incur an additional fee.

What format will my images be?

You will receive high quality jpeg images ranging typically between 5-15MB in file size.  This is more than enough to make large and extra large prints without showing any pixelation or degradation.

If you are ordering a USB memory stick we always include  both high quality JPEG images suitable for prints and an additional compressed folder where the images are dramatically reduced in file size to less than 0.5MB but still reasonable for bulk uploading to social media.

Product images can depend on the scope of the project and your requirements.  You will probably still request JPEG images but we can also supply TIFF or PNG files. For layered Photoshop projects we can include the PSD files however these can take up a huge amount of storage space and are priced accordingly.

How will I receive my images?

We deliver digital images in a personal online gallery where you can view and download individual images  or the entire gallery in one click as a zip file on your device.  You can also share the gallery link with your friends and family if you wish to do so.

We also offer digital images on a USB memory stick for a small additional charge (Unless it is already included in your chosen package).

You are advised to download and create a backup copy of your digital images ideally in the cloud.  We can offer guidance for doing so if you are unsure.

We can supply a wide range of prints and custom wedding albums at an additional cost or we can guide you to some great retailers if you wish to print your own.

Do you shoot in RAW and can I have them?

Yes, we shoot all of our images in RAW format.  This enables us to capture the highest quality possible as a starting image so that we can deliver you the best quality photographs.

We will only supply RAW files to corporate business customers who are exclusively wishing to manage their own editing in house or via a design agency.

RAW files straight out of camera look incredibly flat with muted colours and lack contrast.  They require editing using professional software and skills then saved to another format to make them look pleasing.  We want to make your photographs look their best  and besides RAW images take up a huge amount of storage space.

Do you offer price match?

Our pricing structure fairly reflects our time, expenses, and our "behind the scenes" overheads - and of course you are getting two photographers for the price of one.

If you do find other photographers in the area offering the same service for cheaper we would love for you to bring this to our attention and we can see if there is any wiggle room however we are already incredibly competitively priced.

We can offer instalment payment plans allowing you to spread the cost over several months leading up to your wedding, however the final payment should be made 6 weeks before your wedding day.

This will be detailed in your wedding contract at the time of booking.
